Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and ccnote.me ("ccnote", "we", "us"), a service operated by an individual based in Hong Kong. By creating an account or using ccnote you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use ccnote.

1. The service

ccnote gives you an email address at ccnote.me. Email sent or copied to that address, and content you save through our apps and extensions, is stored as notes that you can read and organise. ccnote is currently in beta: features may change, and some may be added or removed.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
• You sign in with a Google account. Keep that account secure; you're responsible for activity under your ccnote account.
• Your username becomes your email address and can't be changed. We may reclaim or refuse usernames that impersonate others, infringe trademarks, or are reserved for the service.
• Keep your API tokens private. Revoke any you no longer use in Settings.

3. Your content

You own the notes and other content you store in ccnote. You give us permission to store, process, copy and display it only as needed to provide and protect the service for you. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups that are overwritten on their normal schedule.

You are responsible for your content and for having the right to store it. Emails other people send to your address become part of your notes only if you've trusted the sender or approved the message.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use ccnote to:

• break the law, or store or share content that is illegal, including content that exploits children;
• send spam, phishing or malware, or use your address to register for services in bulk;
• infringe other people's intellectual property or privacy;
• impersonate ccnote or anyone else;
• probe, overload or interfere with the service, or get around its limits or security; or
• access other people's accounts or data without permission.

5. Suspension and termination

You can stop using ccnote at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@ccnote.me. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your notes.

6. Price

ccnote is free during the beta. If we introduce paid plans, we'll tell you in advance, and we won't charge you without your agreement.

7. Third-party services

ccnote relies on services such as Google sign-in and, in future, integrations with X and WeCom. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms.

8. Disclaimers

ccnote is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every email sent to your address will be received. Please keep your own copies of anything important.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ccnote is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and HK$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post changes on this page and update the effective date. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use ccnote after that means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Hong Kong, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring proceedings there.
